Bass love to go after certain types of bait. This means that if you pick your cards right you will have a much easier time catching them if you know how to do bait selection.
Jigs are a good place to start with when bass fishing. If you are fishing in deeper waters then crankbaits work well also. Finally worms are good as well in shallow waters.
You are going to have to try and experiment with many different types of lures though if you want to see what is going to work best for you.
