Bass love to go after certain types of bait. This means that if you pick your cards right you will have a much easier time catching them if you know how to do bait selection.
Jigs are a good place to start with when bass fishing. If you are fishing in deeper waters then crankbaits work well also. Finally worms are good as well in shallow waters.
You are going to have to try and experiment with many different types of lures though if you want to see what is going to work best for you.

Seasonal Fishing
There are many different seasons that you can go fishing in. If you wanted to you could go fishing in the summer or even the winter. Although these two types of fishing styles are completely different there is some advantages over summer fishing.
When bass fishing, I find that it is easier to catch them in the summer instead of the winter. The fish are a lot harder to find in the winter and you are limited as to where you can fish.
In the summer you could just get your boat and go to a different location if the fish are not biting. In the winter it is a little bit harder to travel on the lake.

Best Time to Go Fishing
One trick that you can use to your advantage is what time of day to go fishing at. I find that if you go fishing at a certain time of day you will get better results.
The best times of the day to go fishing are in the early morning or late in the evening. I find that the fish tend to bite the most at these times.
If you happen to go fishing during the afternoon you may find that the fish will not bite as much at this time. I think this is because they do not feed during midday that much.

Bass Fishing Locations
In order to get better at bass fishing you are going to need to know where to look for them. Finding the best location for fishing is a very important rule. Bass love to hang out in certain areas on the lake.
If you are fishing on a really hot day then the fish tend to go to deeper waters. This is because as the day gets hotter so does the water. Deeper water offers more cooling for the fish.
Try to look for locations where there are many rocks in the water. Also try looking for docks and bridges that offer shade for the fish. Often at times they will be hiding there.
