If you are fishing on a really hot day then the fish tend to go to deeper waters. This is because as the day gets hotter so does the water. Deeper water offers more cooling for the fish.
Try to look for locations where there are many rocks in the water. Also try looking for docks and bridges that offer shade for the fish. Often at times they will be hiding there.
